Director's Welcome

At SCITTELS, our ethos is to develop excellent teachers who deliver high-quality and inclusive learning experiences for the diverse children of East London. We believe in the transformative power of education, and, as such, have developed an ambitious curriculum for our trainees. We aspire for all children to reach their best academic potential, understand how to keep themselves safe and happy and become caring and proactive global citizens. We aim to equip all our trainees with the skills to make this happen.

We want our trainees to understand the importance of approaching all interactions with children through the dual lenses of kindness and respect, with a particular focus on promoting inclusivity, diversity and anti-racism. Throughout our long history, we have been privileged to have helped hundreds of trainee teachers to realise their dream of pursuing a career in the classroom.

Our trainee teachers are from all walks of life, but their desire to become excellent teachers in East London is the same. Our trainees are known to be professional, resilient, inclusive and, most importantly, passionate about primary education and making a difference.

We have an excellent track record and have been recognised by Ofsted as an ‘Outstanding’ provider of teacher training. We work with a well-established group of brilliant schools in East London. The strength of our partnerships lies in their diversity, longevity and experience. Our community of trainees and mentors and schools is a small, close-knit group. We are proud that each cohort forms both a strong professional network and friendships that last a lifetime. We care about our trainees as individuals and want the very best for each and every one of them. We are relentless in our pursuit of excellence; our training and our pastoral care are outstanding.

If you have any queries, would like to talk to someone, take a tour of the centre or visit Colegrave Primary School then please get in touch. We look forward to hearing from you and hopefully welcoming you as a SCITTELS trainee.
